“Mother’s Are Important Too” Sunday School Lesson

The Bible is filled with stories about significant people and events, including the creation of the world and God sending His only Son to save humanity from sin. However, we often overlook the important women in the Bible and their contributions to God’s unfolding narrative. Mother’s Day provides a wonderful opportunity to reflect on these mothers and the vital roles they played during their time.

In this lesson, children will explore familiar stories, focusing not just on the events themselves but specifically on the mothers within these stories. They will consider the feelings these mothers had for their children, the challenges the children faced, and the influence the mothers had on their lives.

Through role-play, games, and printable displays, children will discover how these mothers influenced their children’s success. Additionally, they will have the chance to create an adorable Mother’s Day gift for their loved ones to express their appreciation.

 Bible Lesson Display and Manipulative

This lesson features a delightful set of pictures showcasing five amazing mothers: Eve, Hannah, Elizabeth, Rebekah, and Mary, along with sentence cards that describe each one. Before class, print the pictures and hang them on the bulletin board.

During the class, the kids will take turns picking a sentence card, reading it aloud, and placing it under the matching picture. As they do this, encourage them to share their thoughts on how each mother might have felt in those moments, sparking conversation and creativity.

Act out Different Bible Stories that Include Mothers

Children perform different roles from Bible passages about mothers, and the other students try to guess who they are portraying.
