Thanksgiving Manners Matter Bible Lesson

Serve up kindness, gratitude, and good manners this Thanksgiving!

Help children discover that good manners are more than knowing where the fork belongs—they are everyday ways to show love and respect for others. Based on Romans 12:10, this Thanksgiving lesson teaches that while rules of etiquette change with the times and circumstances, God’s instructions to love and honor others never change.

Choose the presentation that fits your class! Present the lesson as a puppet skit or short skit for younger children. Engage older children with a lesson exploring etiquette of the past and today and the unchanging Bible principles behind considerate behavior.

  • Setting the Table craft using dried foods or magazine food pictures.
  • Manners Matter coloring sheet to spark conversations about mealtime behavior.
  • Romans 12:10 Bible verse coloring sheet in KJV and NIV.
  • Practice Table Manners activity with a pretend Thanksgiving dinner.

Give children opportunities to practice sharing, saying “thank you,” welcoming guests, and showing consideration—then encourage them to bring those habits to their own Thanksgiving tables!
